Younès Belhanda scored his first hat-trick in eight years to help Galatasaray to a 6-0 win over Genclerbirligi in the Turkish Super Lig last weekend.
The Morocco international scored three goals in 17 first-half minutes. After opening his account in the game with a long range drive, he pounced on a goalkeeper mistake to complete his double before adding a third in stoppage time with an acrobatic finish from close range.
It was the playmaker’s first hat-trick since 2013, when he found the back of the net on three occasions in a 9-1 victory for Dynamo Kiev over Metalurh Donetsk.
Belhanda, 30, has now scored 21 goals in 121 matches for the Istanbul giants.
Victory moved Galatasaray up to 33 points on the league standings, two behind leaders Besiktas who they face on Sunday.
