Orlando Pirates suffered their second defeat of the season in the DStv Premiership on Sunday.


The Buccaneers succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Black Leopards in a game which was played at the Thohoyandou Stadium.


The opening goal of the match was netted by Pirates left-back Innocent Maela, who scored an own goal to hand Leopards the lead in the 29th minute.


Leopards were soon 2-0 up when Ovidy Karuru set-up Roderick Kabwe, who made no mistake as he beat Pirates goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands just before half-time.


The goal sealed Leopards’ victory as Pirates were unable to find the back of the net on the day.


The victory took Lidoda Duvha to the 13th spot on the league standings, while the Buccaneers remained fifth on the table.


Meanwhile, AmaZulu and Maritzburg United played out a goalless draw in the KwaZulu-Natal derby at the Jonsson Kings Park Stadium on Sunday afternoon.


The first-half saw Thabiso Kutumela and Judas Moseamedi being denied by AmaZulu goalkeeper Veli Mothwa, who was in top form.


A second-half which was dominated by AmaZulu followed as Jethren Barr became a busy man in the Maritzburg goal-posts.


Tapelo Xoki and Augustine Mulenga were both denied by Barr in the closing stages of the game and ultimately, the game ended in a 0-0 draw.


The draw left Usuthu placed 10th on the league standings, while the Team of Choice climbed up to 12th place.
