Senegal captain Kalidou Koulibaly is confident that they will defeat Juventus in the 2Italian Super Cup final at the MAPEI Stadium on Wednesday.

The world-class central defender helped SSC Napoli clinch last season’s Coppa Italia and they qualified for the Super Cup where they will face reigning Serie A champions Juventus.

Koulibaly was part of the Napoli team which lifted the Super Cup in 2014 as they defeated Juventus 6-5 on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

“I only expect to win. We know it’s going to be a difficult match, Juventus are a great team in a good moment,” Koulibaly said on Football Italia.

“We’ll need the right mentality, it’s 50-50, we’ll do everything we can to win.”

Koulibaly and his Napoli teammates are brimming with confidence after they hammered Fiorentina 6-0 in a Serie A encounter on Sunday.

While their Super Cup opponents Juventus succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Inter Milan in their league outing on the same day.

Koulibaly, who is the Napoli third captain, urged his teammates to remain focused ahead of their highly-anticipated encounter against Juventus.

“It was a tough game, but we played well. It was important to win, and we are happy with our performance, but must work on our mentality,” he continued.

“This was a good game, but we must remain focused, for now, we are happy with the three points.

“Despite that, we need to improve under many aspects. Opponents can score anytime, today we attacked and defended all together.”

The 29-year-old player has made 20 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this season.
