Orlando Pirates recorded a victory on matchday 13 of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership season on Saturday evening.


The Buccaneers claimed a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium thanks to Deon Hotto’s first-half goal.


The win took Pirates to the fourth spot on the league standings – three points behind third-placed SuperSport United.


Maritzburg remained 14th on the log – a place above 15th-placed Black Leopards, who succumbed to in 3-0 defeat to Chippa in the afternoon.


Andile Mbenyane, Maloisane Mokhele and Kurt Lentjies all scored for the Chilli Boys in a match which was played at the Thohoyandou Stadium.


It was Chippa’s second successive victory in the league and it took them to the 11th spot on the standings.


Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a 1-1 draw by Swallows FC in a top of the log clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the afternoon.


Kermit Erasmus’ opened the scoring in the first-half, but his strike was cancelled out by Musa Nyatama’s stopppage time goal.


The result leaves Sundowns and Swallows level on 27 points atop the league standings after 13 rounds of fixtures.


At the Peter Mokaba Stadium, AmaZulu FC secured 2-0 victory over Baroka FC with Bonginkosi Ntuli and Siphelele Magubane scoring for the visitors.


As a result, AmaZulu climbed up to the eighth spot on the league standings, while Baroka slipped down to 10th place following a clash which was played in the evening.


Lastly, Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs played to a 0-0 draw in a match which was played at the Danie Craven Stadium in the evening,


The draw left Stellenbosch and Chiefs placed ninth and seventh place on the league standings respectively.
