Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has been named Liverpool FC Player of the Month award for December 2020.
The 28-year-old winger hit the back of the net six times in eight matches across all competitions for the Reds last month.
As a result, Salah saw off competition from Brazil duo of Fabinho and Roberto Firmino to clinch the individual award.
The left-footed goal-machine is pleased to have won the accolade and he urged the club’s fans to stick with the team.
“Thank you very much. It’s nice but we just need to win some games from the games coming,” Salah told the club website.
“The situation is not great at the moment but we just need to focus on each game and stay together and carry on.
“I want to thank them [the fans] very much and tell them thank you very much for voting for me. We just need to stay together, supporting the team, and I’m sure everything is going to be fine.”
The current season has seen Salah score his 100th goal for Liverpool in all competitions in a 2–2 away draw against Everton in October 2020.
In scoring his 100th goal in his 159th game, Salah became the first player since Steven Gerrard in 2008 to reach the milestone.
The third fastest in Liverpool’s history after Roger Hunt (100 goals in 144 games), and Jack Parkinson (153 games).
He has netted 17 goals from 25 matches across all competitions for Liverpool thus far this term.
