Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui has hailed the impact of Moroccan attacking duo Youssef En-Nesyri and Oussama Idrissi at the La Liga club.
En-Nesyri, 23, is enjoying easily the best season of his career, having scored 12 goals in 19 league appearances in the Spanish top flight – a hot streak which has seen him become the subject of major transfer speculation this month.
“I’m happy for his run of form,” said Lopetegui, as quoted by The National News. “But also for the way he’s working with the team. He’s still at a fantastic age to grow and get better.”
The Sevilla boss, knowing that En-Nesyri has admirers elsewhere, added: “He’s in the right place to do that.”
The Atlas Lions international appears to agree with his manager. En-Nesyri’s agent, Anass Ouzifi, is quoted by Morocco World News as saying: “A few days ago another Premier club clammed me again, an important team. They asked me about what was Youssef’s situation. I told them Youssef didn’t want to leave Sevilla.
“I explained the situation well to them. Youssef is very happy in Sevilla, very grateful to the club and his teammates. Not everything is about money in life.”
Meanwhile, 24-year-old Moroccan Oussama Idrissi, signed last summer from AZ Alkmaar, has made good use of the Copa del Rey to showcase his skills and could be a key man for Sevilla as the campaign wears on.
“I think he can be a big help to us in the second half of the season,” explained Lopetegui.
Both En-Nesyri and Idrissi will be looking to impress for Sevilla when they face Eibar on Saturday afternoon for their next La Liga fixture.
