Nicolas Pepe, 25, continued his run of form with a brilliant solo goal in Arsenal’s 2-1 loss at Wolves on Tuesday evening.
The Ivory Coast international opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. Pepe nutmegged two Wolves players before firing a right-footed finish into the corner of the net for his second goal in three matches, but it proved in vain as red cards for David Luiz and Bernd Leno derailed the North London club’s charge up the Premier League table.
The Gunners were unbeaten in seven league matches heading to Molineux Stadium and looked on course to another win, but as has often been the case through the current campaign, they proved to be their own worst enemy.
Defeat leaves Arsenal in 10th spot on the Premier League standings ahead of their trip to Aston Villa on Saturday.
Pepe, who joined Arsenal from Lille for a reported £72million in August 2019, has scored 15 goals in 68 appearances for Arsenal.
