Cagliari Calcio have announced the signing of free agent Kwadwo Asamoah on a short-term deal until the end of the 2020-21 Serie A season.
The 32-year-old had been without a club since leaving Inter in October last year.
The Ghana international started his professional career in Switzerland before moving on-loan to Torino in 2008. A permanent move to Udinese would follow in 2009 before joining Juventus three years later. It was with the Old Lady that Asamoah enjoyed his most successful spell as a player, winning six Serie A titles.
He joined fellow Italian giants Inter in 2018. He made a total of 53 appearances for the Nerazzurri before mutually agreeing to the termination of his contract after finding it increasingly difficult to break into Antonio Conte’s team.
Asamoah had been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, Sampdoria and Montreal Impact but has found a new home in Cagliari where joins former teammates Radja Nainggolan and Diego Godin. Gli Isolani are currently struggling at the wrong end of the Serie A standings and head into matchday 21 in 18th place.
