Cape Town City, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu FC all secured wins in their Nedbank Cup Last 32 matches on Saturday, February 6.
City thumped a hapless Bloemfontein Celtic side 4-0 in an entertaining match which was played at the Cape Town Stadium.
Tashreeq Morris hit the back of the net three times to complete a hat-trick, while Thabo Nodada also scored for the Citizens, who reached the Last 16.
At the Orlando Stadium, Pirates edged out GladAfrica Championship side Uthongathi FC 1-0 in a game which took place at the Orlando Stadium.
The only goal of the match was netted by Frank Mhango in the second-half and Pirates are looking to win their ninth Nedbank Cup trophy this season.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu came back to defeat Lamontville Golden Arrows 5-4 on penalties in a game which was played at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
Arrows striker Michael Gumede’s opening goal was cancelled out by AmaZulu forward Lehlohonolo Majoro’s stoppage-time strike in the KwaZulu-Natal Derby.
Meanwhile, JDR Stars edged out fellow GladAfrica Championship side Unversity of Pretoria 2-1 in a game which took place at the Giant Stadium.
Tshepo Mokhabi and Innocent Nemukondeni both netted for Stars, while Tebogo Mohlamonyane scored AmaTuks’ consolation goal.
Lastly, TS Galaxy were eliminated by GladAfrica Championship side TS Sporting, who won 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Airline Park.
