Crystal Palace have suffered a huge blow with Wilfried Zaha set for a spell on the sidelines.
Eagles boss Roy Hodgson has revealed that the Ivory Coast international will miss the club’s Premier League trip to Leeds United on Monday evening, while he is not sure how long the winger will be out for.
Zaha, who has scored nine goals in 19 Premier League games this season, was forced from the field with a hamstring injury during Palace’s 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday.
“We don’t know how long it’s going to keep him out,” Hodgson told reporters.
“He certainly won’t be available for this game, and it could be much longer than that. At the moment of course it’s the early stage of the injury and he’s still being assessed.
“You never know with these hamstring injuries, but Wilf is incredible in terms of recovery so I wouldn’t want to put a definite timeline on it.
“But it’s a muscle strain and all muscle strains take time to heal. Our people are doing their level best to get him back on the field.”
Back-to-back wins in the league moved Palace up to 13th on the standings, level on 29 points with both Leeds and Southampton.
