SuperSport United and Swallows FC will be looking to close the gap on defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership this weekend.

Sundowns will not be in action this weekend as they are scheduled to face Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman in the CAF Champions League.

Orlando Pirates, SuperSport and Swallows are placed joint-second on the league standings – five points behind leaders, Sundowns.

Pirates will also be on continental duty as they are set to face Botswana champions Jwaneng Galaxy in the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.

Swallows will play host to AmaZulu FC at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, while SuperSport will welcome Cape Town City at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

The action will begin on Friday with Stellenbosch FC facing Lamontville Golden Arrows at Danie Craven Stadium in a clash between two teams which were eliminated from the Nedbank Cup last weekend.

Relegation-threatened clubs Maritzburg United and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) are set to meet at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday.

On Saturday, Bloemfontein Celtic will be eyeing their second win in a row when they lock horns with Chippa United at the Dr Molemela Stadium
