Liverpool will continue to fight right until the very end says Sadio Mane despite seeing their hopes of retaining the Premier League title they won last season take a huge dent in recent weeks.
The Reds have fallen 16 points behind Manchester City on the league standings after three straight defeats, the most recent of which came away at Leicester City last weekend.
Liverpool did manage a timely boost with a 2-0 win over RB Leipzig in the Uefa Champions League earlier this week with Mane and African counterpart Mohamed Salah on target in Budapest.
“I think as a professional footballer it is not easy at all [to deal with a poor run of results] – especially when in the last years you are used to winning nearly every single game,” Mane told Premier League Productions as quoted by liverpoolfc.com.
“We have more experience now and we know how you have to deal with these kind of things: you just have to stick together and also try to be as positive as you can.
“I think it’s not easy for sure, which is normal, but we are experienced players, we know how to deal with this type of situation and of course now it’s better because we won the last game so that’s another motivation for us to keep believing.
“It’s football, it can happen [and] we can change it. What to do is try to show our character and win games and for sure, things will change.
“We have to put it all together now to change this situation, which is really complicated. Like I said, now we will do everything possible to fight in these last games left,” the Senegal international concluded.
