Simba SC coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa has expressed confidence in his players ahead of their CAF Champions League clash with reigning African kings Al Ahly on Tuesday.

The teams will meet in Dar es Salaam for a Matchday 2 fixture which will decide the leadership of Group A.

Both teams have three points on the board after making winning starts to the group stage campaign earlier this month: Simba claimed an impressive 1-0 away victory at DR Congo giants AS Vita, while Ahly crushed Sudan’s Al Merrikh 3-0 in Cairo.

“I have great confidence in my players and know that the team has very good potential,” said former Ismaily coach Gomes Da Rosa to OnTime Sports, as quoted by KingFut.

“I hope there will be a large number of fans in the Al Ahly match, because it will be a great encounter.

“I asked the players to enjoy the game against Al Ahly and give their best,” he concluded.

The match will see Simba chasing a second successive win over the Egyptian giants, having beaten them 1-0 in the Tanzanian capital when they last met back in February 2019.

The other Group A match on Tuesday sees Al Merrikh host AS Vita in Omdurman.
