African duo Sebastien Haller and Mohammed Kudus starred in Ajax Amsterdam’s 4-2 win over Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday evening.
Victory moved Ajax six points clear atop the Eredivisie standings ahead of their trip to second-placed PSV this coming weekend.
Haller, 26, scored a first-half brace for the Dutch giants to improve on his impressive start to life in the Netherlands capital. The Ivory Coast international, who joined Ajax from West Ham United in January, has now scored seven goals and assisted a further five in 10 matches.
Kudus made his first league start since October following a long injury lay-off and the Ghanaian midfielder made an instant impact on his return.
The 20-year-old scored Ajax’s fourth on the night, converting from a Dusan Tadic pass for his second goal in the Dutch club’s colours following his move to Johan Cruyff Arena from Danish outfit Nordsjaelland last year.
