Ghana international Emmanuel Boateng believes the Black Stars have enough quality to defeat both South Africa and Sao Tome later this month.
The China-based striker is part of the 24-man Black Stars squad which will face South Africa and Sao Tome in their last two 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Ghana are currently placed at the top of Group C standings on goal difference ahead of South Africa and the Black Stars need three points from their last two games in order to qualify for the finals.
“I think we have been training for almost two weeks now and each and everyone is ready,” Boateng told the Ghana Football Association’s official website.
“We train very hard as a team and the morale is already up, so we are ready to play for our homeland.
“I think it is very good because when we trained at McDan [Park], they [players] were complaining about the pitch.”
The Black Stars will be away to South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on March 25, before they play host to Sao Tome’s Falcons on March 28 home.
Boateng, who plays for Dalian Professional in the Chinese Super League, explained what Ghana need to do in order to qualify for the tournament which will be hosted by Cameroon.
“But we need to know that is what we have, so we need to co-operate, but I think everything is perfect,” he continued.
“We have the qualities to play for the nation and I think we are ready. We just need a helping hand from each other to play.
“I’m urging all Ghanaians to support us with players, and we hope to deliver what they want.”
Boateng has netted once in six international matches for Ghana.
