Ghanaian starlet Yunus Musah has decided to represent the United States of America (USA) at international level.

The Valencia CF midfielder, who is a former England youth international, was eligible to play for Black Stars through his Ghanaian parents.

In the early months of 2021, Musah was reportedly undecided on the question of which nation to represent permanently.

The 18-year-old sensation has now officially committed to representing the United States internationally.

“I think it was pretty clear for me to decide to play for the United States,” Musah told US soccer federation official website.

“First of all, I think it makes sense to represent the country I was born in. The moment I decided to play for the United States came one day when my heart told me that this was the best place for me.

“The project that we have now and for the future is so exciting, and it’s a great pleasure to be able to be a part of that. I can’t wait to get started.

“The U.S. supporters have been really warm and made me feel wanted and appreciated. It’s exciting with such a young squad. “It’s nice to compete against so many great players for spots. It’s exciting to see what we can do together. I’m sure we’re going to be able to do great things.”

Musah was born in New York City, USA and he moved to Italy after his birth, living in Castelfranco Veneto and later starting his career at Giorgione Calcio 2000.

In 2012, at age 9, he moved to London and joined English giants Arsenal’s Academy, before joining Spanish side Valencia’s academy in 2019.

He has netted once in 24 La Liga games for Valencia thus far this term.
