Ghana will battle with Sao Tome and Principe in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification Group C match on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 6:00 pm CAT.

The encounter is scheduled to take place at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Ghana’s capital city, Accra.

The Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in a Group C match which was played in Johannesburg on Thursday.

The draw saw Group C leaders, Ghana qualify for the next year’s tournament which will be hosted by Cameroon.

The West African giants have a superior head-to-head record over second-placed South Africa and third-placed Sudan.

Meanwhile, Sao Tome succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Sudan in a Group C match which was played in the city of Sao Tome on Wednesday.

The Falcons and True Parrots Team find themselves placed fourth on the group stages without a single point.

Their hopes of qualifying have long diminished and they will be hoping to cause a major upset by defeating four-time Africa champions, Ghana.

The previous match between Ghana and Sao Tome was on 18 November 2019.

Ghana secured a 1-0 win over Sao Tome in the 2022 AFCON qualifier Group C game at the Estadio Nacional 12 de Julho in Sao Tome.
