Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points for the first time in their Caf Champions League Group B on Friday.
The South African champions were held to a 0-0 draw by Sudanese giants Al Hilal at the Al-Hilal Stadium in Omdurman in the afternoon.
As a result, Al Hilal are placed third on the group standings – TWO points behind second-placed CR Belouizdad.
While Sundowns, who won their first four games in Group B, are seven points clear at the top of the group standings having already qualified for this season’s quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Belouizdad caused an upset when they defeated DR Congolese champions TP Mazembe 2-0 in another Group B match at the Stade du 5 Juillet 1962 in Algiers in the evening.
Goals from Amir Sayoud and Youcef Bechou inspired Algerian side Belouizdad to an impressive win over Mazembe with Ahmed Gasmi providing two assists.
The win saw Belouizdad climb up to second-place on group standings and they will wrap up their group stage campaign against Sundowns away on April 9.
While DR Congolese champions Mazembe, who remained fourth on the table, are eliminated from the competition and they will host Al Hilal on April 9.
