While Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed the club’s desire to extend Eric Bertrand Bailly’s stay at Old Trafford, rumours continue to link the defender with a move back to Spain.
According to the Sun, LaLiga club Real Betis have shown interest in signing the Red Devils centre-back ahead of next season.
Bailly, whose current deal will expire in June 2022, has yet to reach an agreement with United on an extension and is reportedly frustrated with his situation at the Premier League club.
The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout the course of his Manchester stay. The Ivory Coast international, who joined the Red Devils from Villarreal for a reported £25 million in 2016, has only played 100 times for the club over the last five years.
Bailly has missed United’s last three Premier League games after testing positive for COVID-19, but has only notched up 15 appearances across all competitions this season.
United return to action away to Leeds United on Sunday before hosting AS Roma in the first-leg of the Europa League semi-finals next Thursday.
