AmaZulu climbed to the top of the 2020-21 DStv Premiership standings on Saturday.
Usuthu defeated KwaZulu-Natal rivals Golden Arrows 1-0 at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. A solitary strike from Luvuyo Memela moved AmaZulu two points clear of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns who are away to Orlando Pirates on Sunday.
Benni McCarthy’s men are now unbeaten in 16 league matches.
Kaizer Chiefs squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Bloemfontein Celtic at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.
Goals from Happy Mashiane and Erick Mathoho fired the Amakhosi into an early lead but Siwelele hit back through Neo Maema and Victor Letsoalo to earn a point.
