Mohammed Kudus found the back of the net for Ajax Amsterdam in a Dutch Eredivisie match that had it all.
The Dutch champions thumped fierce rivals Feyenoord 3-0 in De Klassieker at De Kuip on Sunday, but the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story.
Ajax hit the front through a Marcos Senesi own goal in the 21st minute. Robert Bozenik thought he had equalised for the hosts moments later, but his goal was ruled out for offside by VAR.
Edson Alvarez was then sent off for handling the ball in the penalty area but Maarten Stekelenburg saved Leroy Fer’s spot-kick on the cusp of half-time.
Feyenoord themselves were reduced to 10-men after Tyrell Malacia picked up a second yellow on the hour mark and seven minutes later second-half substitute Ridgeciano Haps put the ball in the back of his own net.
Kudus finished off a superb team move to make it 3-0 in what ultimately proved a comfortable win for Erik ten Hag’s troops.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian has now scored three goals in 15 Eredivisie matches this season. Watch his most recent strike, here:
