The Confederation of African Football have announced that this evening’s CAF Super Cup clash between Al Ahly and RS Berkane in Doha will allow a crowd attendance of 30 percent capacity.

Egyptian giants Ahly, the reigning CAF Champions League title holders, and their Confederation Cup counterparts, RS Berkane of Morocco, will meet at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar for the 29th edition of the Super Cup.

“The permission for fans to attend the game was given according to the instructions of the Ministry of Public Health and consultation with CAF, after the gradual lifting of the restrictions that have been imposed recently in the country in several stages to limit the spread of Covid-19,” CAF stated on their website.

“With regards to local and international sporting events, the lifting of restrictions has allowed the attendance of a limited number of fans at events in open places, provided that they have been vaccinated.”

Social distancing rules and mask mandates will still be in place.

The CAF Super Cup sees Ahly looking to claim a record-extending seventh title in the one-off match between winners of the Champions League and Confederation Cup. The Red Devils last appeared in the match in 2014, defeating Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien.

RS Berkane will be making their Super Cup debut, having won their first continental title by defeating Egypt’s Pyramids FC in the final of the Confederation Cup in November last year.
