Lebogang Manyama fired Kaizer Chiefs to a 3-2 win over Golden Arrows at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening, in the penultimate round of fixtures for the 2020-21 DStv Premiership season.
Victory kept Chiefs’ hopes of a top-eight finish alive and victory at TS Galaxy on Saturday will secure MTN8 football for next season.
Michael Gumede opened the scoring in Soweto before Manyama grabbed his first on the night following a driving run into the penalty box by Willard Katsande.
Arrows regained the lead thanks to an Erick Mathoho own goal just after the hour mark, but the introduction of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo paid dividends for the Amakhosi. The diminutive midfielder set up Manyama twice in the space of seven minutes as Chiefs completed a stunning comeback win.
Manyama’s hat-trick versus Arrows is the third treble of the DStv Premiership season, following Themba Zwane (vs AmaZulu) and Bienvenu Eva Nga (vs Maritzburg United).
