Orlando Pirates secured a third-place finish in the DStv Premiership despite dropping points on the final day of the 2020/21 season on Saturday.

The Buccaneers were held to a 0-0 draw by a 12th-placed Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in a match that was played at the Orlando Stadium.

While Chippa United will take part in this season’s PSL Promotional/Relegation playoffs after drawing 1-1 with fifth-placed SuperSport United at the Nelson Mandela Stadium.

The result saw the Chilli Boys finish in the relegation playoff spot (15th) with Onismor Bhasera having cancelled out Andile Mbenyane’s opening goal.

At the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, champions Mamelodi Sundowns ended a successful season with a 3-0 win over seventh-placed Cape Town City with Lyle Lakay and Peter Shalulile (brace) scoring.

Meanwhile, Swallows FC and Baroka FC drew 1-1 at the Dobsonville Stadium and they ended the season in the sixth and 10th spots respectively on the league standings.

Givemore Khupe saved Swallows’ blushes as the young defender grabbed the equalising goal after Ananias Gebhardt had handed Baroka the lead.

While Samir Nurkovic’s solitary goal helped Kaizer Chiefs finish eighth on the standings after the Glamour Boys claimed a 1-0 win over ninth-placed TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium.

At the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, Lamontville Golden Arrows were held to a 0-0 draw by Stellenbosch FC and the result left the two teams placed fourth and 14th respectively on the log.

Regan Van Der Ross scored for Bloemfontein Celtic as they finished 11th on the table after their 1-1 draw against an already relegated Black Leopards side, who netted through Roderick Kabwe at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

Lastly, Maritzburg United AmaZulu FC finished 13th and second respectively on the table after they drew 0-0 in the KwaZulu-Natal Derby encounter at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
