Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah has been urged to stay at Liverpool FC by former Arsenal FC goalkeeper Rami Shaaban.
Considered to be one of the best wingers in the world, Salah has been linked with Spanish football heavyweights Real Madrid and FC Barcelona since last year.
Shaaban, who was on the books of Arsenal between 2002 and 2004, stated that Salah should also snub French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
“It is better for Salah to continue at Liverpool,” Shaaban said on Kingfut.
“Liverpool fans love Salah. I want Salah to continue with the club even if he receives an offer from Paris Saint-Germain because the competition in England is stronger than in France.
“The situation will be different in one case, which is if he receives an offer from a team in the Spanish La Liga, and we’re talking here about Real Madrid or Barcelona.”
The former Sweden international, who has an Egyptian father, would have loved to see Salah join Arsenal FC before he moved to their London rivals, Chelsea FC from Swiss giants FC Basel in 2014.
“I wish Salah would’ve joined Arsenal before moving to Chelsea, Salah’s style suits Arsenal,” he added.
Salah netted 22 goals in the 2020/21 English Premier League season and he narrowly missed out on the Golden Boot award which was scooped by Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, who scored 23 goals.
The 28-year-old won Liverpool Players’ Player of the Season and Liverpool Fans’ Player of the Season awards, while also being named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
