Peter Shalulile wins big at PSL Awards
Peter Shalulile of Mamelodi Sundowns lifts the Premiership trophy

Peter Shalulile was the big winner at the 2021 PSL Awards on Sunday evening.


The Namibia international enjoyed a terrific first season at Mamelodi Sundowns and played an integral role in their run to a fourth successive league crown.


Shalulile scored 22 goals (15 in the league) and assisted a further eight in 39 appearances across all competitions.


The 27-year-old won both the 2020/21 PSL Footballer of the Season and DStv Premiership Player’s Player of the Season awards.


The PSL Footballer of the Season is voted exclusively by the Premier Division coaches while the DStv Premiership Player’s Player of the Season is chosen by players.


Bafana Bafana record goalscorer and current AmaZulu head coach, Benni McCarthy, was voted the DStv Premiership Coach of the Season after guiding Usuthu to a second place finish, their highest ever placement in the league.


Furthermore, former Uganda Cranes captain and Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper Denis Onyango won the DStv Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season gong. Onyango kept an incredible 15 clean sheets in 25 league matches.
