Football Association of Zambia President Andrew Kamanga has disclosed that they are about to open a soccer coaching school.

Kamanga said the school, which will cater for all levels up to degree programmes, would be located in Lusaka and run under the FAZ technical directorate.

“We realised that our fortunes as a country rely on the caliber of coaches that we have. So to go forward, our executive has decided, which is the first of its kind, to introduce a coaching school where we are going to have coaching as a professional career,” Kamanga said.

Kamanga added the coaching course will be a two-and-a -half year programme.

He also hoped that Zambia would soon have a CAFPro licensed coach from the 22 who are currently armed with CAF A coaching licenses.

“But of course those that have played football are exempt and will start at a different point,” Kamanga added.

“We believe that it will be the quickest way that we can get a return on our investment from the coaches.”
