Percy Tau has been linked with a sensational return to Belgium.
According to Belgian publication Voetbalkrant, Pro League club Royal Antwerp are eager to sign the Bafana Bafana forward, who previously enjoyed successful loan stints at both Club Brugge and Anderlecht.
Tau joined English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion from Mamelodi Sundowns back in 2018, but only received his chance at the club in January this year following a change in work permit regulations.
The 27-year-old struggled for game time at Amex Stadium as the Seagulls battled relegation, but despite Tau’s desire to stay in England and push for a regular starting spot in Graham Potter’s first team next season, the club seem open to selling the South African.
Brighton are believed to have lowered their asking price for Tau to €4m (±R66m), a sum Antwerp are reportedly willing to match.
Tau featured just six times for Brighton last season and could manage one Premier League start.
He will play no part in South Africa’s international friendly match against Uganda on Thursday after testing positive for Covid-19.
