Chelsea have reportedly matched Paris Saint Germain’s offer for versatile wing-back Achraf Hakimi.
According to Sky in Italy, the Blues have equalled the French club’s £56.1m (€60m) offer for the Inter Milan star.
The report suggests that Inter will be more open to Chelsea’s proposal because of the Italian club’s interest in both Emerson Palmieri and Andreas Christensen.
Inter, who value Hakimi at around £68.8m, won their first Serie A title since 2010 but have already lost manager Antonio Conte following the club’s reported refusal to give him significant backing in the transfer window.
Hakimi played an integral part in Inter’s run to the Serie A title this past season, scoring seven goals and assisting a further 10 in 37 league matches.
The Morocco international only joined the Nerazzurri from Real Madrid in September last year after impressing on-loan at Borussia Dortmund over two seasons.
If Chelsea complete the signing, the 22-year-old will link up with national teammate Hakim Ziyech at Stamford Bridge.
