Zambia and Sudan will now play not one but two friendly games this weekend with one of those matches having been down-graded.

Chipolopolo were due to conclude their final friendly of their June friendly tour against Sudan at Omdurman on June 11.

Football Association of Zambia spokesperson Sydney Mungala told AF Zambia from Khartoum that the adjustments were made on Thursday during a pre-match meeting.

“Please note that the FIFA approved friendly between Sudan and Zambia has been moved to Sunday June 13 at Al Hilal Stadium at 19h00 hours CAT,” Mungala said.

“However an unofficial match will also take place tomorrow June 11 at the same venue and time.”

Mungala said Friday’s game has been down-graded to a practice match that would only feature fringe players who had seen little or no action so far during the tour.

“FIFA guided that after two successive games, Friday was too close for another full international game,” Mungala added.

Chipolopolo arrived in Khartoum in the early hours of Thursday morning after taking care of two friendlies in West Africa.

Zambia drew 2-2 with Benin in Cotonou on June 8 after earlier losing 3-1 against Senegal in Thies on June 5.
