Outgoing FAZ Super League champions Nkana have a great opportunity to leave the relegation zone this Saturday if they can defeat hosts Young Green Eagles at Edwin Emboela Stadium in Lusaka.
The struggling 2019/2020 champions are back in action on June 12 a week since beating top four contenders Red Arrows 2-1 away in Lusaka.
Beston Chambeshi’s side also returns to Lusaka in search of a fourth successive league win as they battle relegated a season after lifting an unprecedented 13th Zambian league crown.
Another three points would see Nkana leap two places to replace Young Eagles at number 13 and out of the bottom four relegation zone for at least 24 hours before Indeni’s Ndola derby clash against Forest Rangers.
Fifteenth placed Nkana and Indeni, who are just above them at number 14, are tied on 37 points with four and three games left to play respectively.
Hosts Young Eagles have 39 points with three games left in which to ensure their own safety.
Meanwhile, Nkana may fancy their chances against a Young Eagles side they beat 4-0 in the first leg meeting on January 25 at home in Kitwe.
However, Nkana must dig deep against Young Eagles who have lost just twice at home this season where they have also claimed some big kills notably over top two sides Zanaco and Zesco.
Furthermore, Young Eagles are unbeaten at home in their last ten matches with an impressive seven victories since fellow promoted side Prison Leopards defeated them 2-0 on December 12.
