Lumwana Radiants hunt for a vital home win in Saturday’s date with Red Arrows at Independence Stadium in Solwezi hoping to avoid the prospect of relegation this weekend.

The North-Western Province club sit second from last inside the bottom four relegation zone and need to win their last three matches to try and stretch their FAZ Super League stay for a seventh successive season since making their top-flight debut in 2016.

Defeat for Lumwana, and victories for Nkana on Saturday at Young Green Eagles, and for Indeni on Sunday against Forest Rangers, would confirm their departure with two matches to spare and see them join Kitwe United down in the FAZ National First Division next season.

Lumwana have 33 points, three points behind Napsa Stars and are a further four points adrift of Nkana and Indeni while Young Green Eagles have 39 points.

But the pressure too is on Arrows who beat Lumwana 1-0 in the first leg on January 30 in Lusaka.

Sixth placed Arrows need a victory that will lift them to third position on 49 points to displace Lusaka Dynamos who have 47 points in a tight race for the third and fourth place 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup qualification berths.

The match will also be Arrows first since another relegation zone side Nkana beat them 2-1 at home in Lusaka on May 25.

Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe will be hoping veteran striker and club top scorer on 11 goals, James Chamanga, who has scored three goals in their last six games in May can resume service and help guide them to a priceless 3 points following a quiet day in that loss to Nkana.
