Lumwana Radiants six-year stay in the FAZ Super League has come to an end after losing 2-0 away to fellow relegation battlers Indeni at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
A Tiki Chiluba first half brace sent Lumwana down and gave Indeni a vital lifeline with a game left to spare.
Chiluba struck in the 7th and 41st minutes to see Indeni go to 41 points but the Ndola club stayed put at number fourteen just above the bottom four relegation zone with one match left to play.
Lumwana, who made their FAZ Super League debut in 2016, joined bottom, placed Kitwe United in the FAZ National First Division next term.
United were demoted with five games to spare three weeks ago.
Meanwhile, the result puts pressure on ex-FAZ Super League champions Nkana who are in action this Saturday at home in Kitwe against sixth placed Buildcon.
Nkana have 38 points with two games left to play and must win tomorrow to leap over Indeni to set-up a nail-biting final day in the race for survival on June 26.
Indeni will be away to fifth placed Kabwe Warriors who have continental ambitions of their own heading into that fixture.
Nkana are also away on the last day of the season to play a massive judgment day date against third from Napsa Stars that have 36 points heading into this Sunday’s away game against mid-table side Nkwazi in Lusaka.
