Power Dynamos caretaker coach Masauso Tembo says it is a huge relief to have put to rest their relegation worries in their penultimate game of the FAZ Super League season.

On Friday, Power secured a 1-0 home win over fourth placed Lusaka Dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium to end all their demotion concerns thanks to a 24th minute Luka Chamanga goal.

“These three points we have collected today eases all the pressure going into our last game of the season next against Kitwe United and we will go there with a very free mind and enjoy our game,” Tembo said.

The victory lifted Power from the precarious 41-point survival threshold to the safety of 44 points leaving Young Green Eagles, Indeni, Nkana and Napsa Stars in a last-minute battle to evade the final two demotion spots.

Bottom placed Kitwe United and Lumwana Radiants have already been demoted with the latter’s relegation confirmed on Friday following a 2-0 away loss to Indeni in Kitwe.

“Yes, there was pressure and we didn’t want to go to Division One and we knew the importance of this game,” Tembo said.

Six-time champions Power are the only side never to have been relegated from the FAZ Super League since they were promoted 41-years -ago.
