Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi has described Saturday’s home win over Buildcon on the penultimate day of the season as a very positive sign in their battle for FAZ Super League survival.

The ex-FAZ Super League champions beat Buildcon 2-0 at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe to push their survival hopes to the final day of the campaign on June 26.

Nkana’s victory also set-up a photo-finish between themselves and Indeni who are just above them at number 15 and tied with on 41 points heading in their respective relegation deciders next weekend.

“I am happy we are picking points and I happy we are moving in the right direction, the players and technical bench are all looking forward to making sure we survive,” Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi said.

Nkana striker Alex Ngonga scored a brace in the 35th and 61st minutes to ensure the survival trace will come down to a dramatic dash for the finish line next Saturday.

Victory for Nkana away at third from bottom Napsa Stars in Lusaka and a loss for Indeni at CAF Confederation Cup chasers Kabwe Warriors in Kabwe will see Chambeshi’s side survive the drop.
