Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi hopes a victory in their final FAZ Super League fixture away at demoted Lumwana Radiants would be enough to see them qualify for the 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup season.
Eagles have come out of nowhere in their last five games to sneak back into top four contention after rising from eighth to fifth on 47 points.
Chiyangi’s side is three points behind third placed Red Arrows who lead the six-horse race in the final dash for the third and fourth CAF Confederation Cup berths.
“For now we just hope for the better because we all have one game to play,” Chiyangi said.
“It also depends on what happened in all the other results. If we can win the last game then we shall see where we can end up.”
Eagles visited demoted Lumwana Radiants where they have lost just once since their hosts were promoted in 2017 and have won there on their last two visits.
The Choma club is chasing a fourth successive continental qualification but has yet to advance to the group stages.
Two of those continental campaigns have been in the CAF Confederation Cup.
