Nkana striker Ronald Kampamba reckons he would form a hot attacking pair with Alex Ngonga next season if they survive relegation this Sunday.
Ngonga has hit the ground running since joining Nkana as a free agent in late April after terminating his contract with their Kitwe archrivals Power Dynamos where he was not in ex-coach Perry Mutapa’s plans.
The striker has scored eight goals in twelve games since joining Nkana after recording just one at Power this season.
Kampamba on the other hand has by his very high standards only managed three league goals for Nkana this term.
“Alex is a seasoned player and I am also a seasoned player,” Kampamba said.
“We are trying to build a nice combination and that is why you have seen us coming up very well.
“If we survive, I tell you we have a chance of winning the league because of this combination.”
Fifteenth placed Nkana and fourteenth positioned Indeni, who are tied on 41 points heading into Sunday’s final games, are battling to avoid joining demoted Kitwe United, Napsa Stars and Lumwana Radiants down in FAZ National Division One next season.
A win for Indeni away to fourth placed Kabwe Warriors and a loss for Nkana at Napsa Stars in Lusaka will see Kampamba’s ambitious dreams for next season extinguished.
