Barely a fortnight after Ian Bakala guided Kabwe Warriors to a FAZ Super League top-four finish; the Kabwe side has advertised the head coach job.

Bakala was in interim charge at Warriors side late May when he was elevated to the post after his boss Levy Chabala was sidelined.

He joined Warriors as assistant coach in April after leaving Lusaka Dynamos where he had also served in the same capacity.

Warriors have set July 7, 2021 as the deadline for applications as they search for a new coach who will oversee their return to continental football for the first time since 1993.

Bakala has been in charge for nine games in which he has won five and drawn one to help steer the five-time Zambian champions Warriors to a fourth place finish and qualify to the 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup.

Warriors are one of Zambia’s two CAF Confederation Cup representatives together with Red Arrows who finished third and tied on 51 points, three points behind runners-up Zanaco who will play in the CAF Champions League.
