Chipolopolo midfielder Enock Mwepu has joined Patson Daka in the English Premiership following his confirmed transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion on July 6.
Mwepu follows Daka out of from Austrian champions RB Salzburg to England after signing a four-year deal with his new club.
Brighton confirmed the deal on its official website and stated that the 23-year old midfielder is coach Graham Potters’ first signing for the 2021/2022 season.
“He has a great deal of experience for somebody of his age, including Champions League and international football,” Potter told brightonandhovealbion.com.
“He’s primarily a central midfielder, although he is capable of playing in numerous positions, is open-minded, adaptable and very keen to learn and develop.
“He will add competition to our existing options in that area of the squad going into the new season.”
Mwepu is now the third player from Zambia’s 2017 AFCON U20 winning team to arrive in Britain after striker Fashion Sakala’s move to
Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers last month.
