Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru looks set to join one of Galatasaray SK’s arch-rivals with Fenerbahce SK and Besiktas JK both keen to sign the winger.
This is according to Onyekurur’s agent, William D’Avila, who disclosed that his client is most likely to stay in Turkey following a short loan spell with Galatasaray.
The 24-year-old player spent the second round of the recent 2020/21 season on loan at Galatasaray from French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.
Galatasaray had an option to sign Onyekuru and D’Avilla has now confirmed offers from their Super Lig rivals Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
“We are in Istanbul with the player and Onyekuru was waiting for news from Galatasaray for the last five weeks,” D’Avilla told Ajansspor.
“But they have not contacted us, but now Fenerbahce and Besiktas have entered the table.”
Onyekuru scored five goals in 14 Super Lig matches for Galatasaray in what was his third loan stint with record 22-time Turkish champions.
The Lagos-born star joined Galatasaray from Monaco on a six-month loan with no option to buy midway through the 2019/2020 season.
Prior to that, Onyekuru had spent the 2018/19 campaign with Galatasaray on loan from former English champions Everton FC.
He has scored twice in 12 international matches for Nigeria.
