Everton manager Rafa Benitez has reportedly requested a reunion with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
According to 90min, the Spaniard is eager to reunite with the centre-back who he worked with in Italy.
Benitez is said to have placed Koulibaly at the top of his transfer wishlist as he aims to strengthen Everton’s defence ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Koulibaly has long been linked with a move to the Premier League with Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City all having been heavily linked with the 30-year-old’s services over the last year.
Benitez signed the Senegal international for Napoli from KRC Genk in July 2014.
The 61-year-old manager coached Napoli for 112 matches before leaving for Real Madrid a year after luring Koulibaly to Naples.
Koulibaly has made close to 300 appearances for the Serie A club over the last seven years and has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in world football over the past few seasons.
Benitez took over the Toffees reins from Carlo Ancelotti, who resigned to return to Real Madrid, earlier this month.
