Ex-Chipolopolo Zambia coach Honour Janza is reportedly heading to Kabwe Warriors.

Sources familiar with the development have indicated that Janza is expected to be unveiled over the coming days.

Janza is expected to replace Levy Chabala who was sidelined in April when Warriors began to lose momentum in the FAZ Super League top four race.

Chabala was replaced in the interim by Warriors assistant coach Ian Bakala who successfully led the five-time champions to a fourth place finish.

Janza is going to Warriors to oversee their 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup campaign that kicks off in September.

This is Warriors first return to continental action since 1993.

Meanwhile, Warriors is not new to Janza where he previously worked as technical director in 2008.

Janza earlier coached Zesco United and guided them to promotion in 2004.

He had a stint at Red Arrows in 2018 and his last FAZ Super League appointment was as technical director at demoted Napsa Stars last season.

Janza also served as FAZ technical director from 2010 to 2014.

He was later appointed Chipolopolo coach in August 2014 when he took over from Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle and held that position until June 2015.

Janza is the last Chipolopolo coach to qualify Zambia to the AFCON in 2015.
