FAZ Super League promoted side Kansanshi Dynamos have hired Tennant Chilumba as their new head coach.

Chilumba joins the North-Western Province’s only FAZ Super League club on a two-year contract.

He joins Kansanshi after he was sidelined by Forest Rangers before the close of the 2020/2021 season, as the Ndola side’s hopes of a second successive top four finish waned. They ultimately finished the campaign in 12th.

Kansanshi return to the FAZ Super League for only the second time in the club’s history after they were demoted in their debut season during the 2019/2020 campaign.

“I can only promise that we will do much better. Everyone is ready to finish in the top six. We are ready and I think everyone is ready,” Chilumba said.

Chilumba fills the void left at Kansanshi by Beston Chambeshi, who quit the club in April to successfully save Nkana from relegation.

Assistants John Munkonje and Gift Kampamba have been in interim charge since Chambeshi’s departure.
