Chipolopolo Zambia on Monday wrapped-up their preliminary training camp in Lusaka ahead of next month’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group B qualifiers.
Beston Chambeshi has released his 30 home-based call-ups so that they can return to their respective bases to vote in the August 12 Zambia presidential elections.
The team has been in camp since August 5 in Lusaka in what was Chambeshi’s first training camp following his appointment as interim Chipolopolo coach on July 27.
Meanwhile, Chipolopolo closed camp with a training game on Monday afternoon against FAZ second tier side City of Lusaka.
The match ended 0-0 at National Heroes Stadium.
It was the second practice game Chipolopolo has played since beating FAZ Super League club Red Arrows 4-1 last Saturday on the other side of town at Nkoloma Stadium.
Chipolopolo will kick off their Qatar Group B qualifiers on September 1 against Mauritania away in Nouakchott and later host Tunisia in Ndola on September 5.
Zambia will resume their Group B qualifiers in October with a doubleheader against Equatorial Guinea away on October 6 and in Lusaka on October 10.
