Zanaco coach Kelvin Kaindu believes the acquisition of Chipolopolo defender Isaac Shamujompa and midfielder Salulani Phiri is money well spent.

The Chipolopolo duo is part of a flurry of newcomers the 2020/2021 FAZ Super League runners-up unveiled over the weekend for the 2021/2022 campaign.

“I think they come with experience and will add a lot of depth and options in the team,”Kaindu told AF.

Salulani has rejoined Zanaco five years after leaving the seven-time Zambian champions to join South African PSL club Polokwane City.

The Chipolopolo defensive midfielder rejoins Zanaco on a two-year deal.

Shamujompa arrives from Buildcon on a three-year deal and the defender is reunited with Kaindu after the latter coached him at the Ndola club in 2020.

Another player has followed Kaindu at Zanaco in the form of winger Ackim Mumba who played under the coach during his brief stint at Nkana last season.

Mumba joins Zanaco on a season-long loan from his parent club Red Arrows.

Meanwhile, defender Taonga Bwembya has also returned to Zanaco on a two-year contract after spending a season away at Forest Rangers.

Zanaco kickoff  their season  with a continental  date  on September 11 in the 2021/2022 CAF  Champions League  preliminary round with a first leg away fixture in Equatorial Guinea against Akonangui.
