Chipolopolo Zambia coach Beston Chambeshi says there is an extra vibe of positive energy in the team since kicking off their ten-day training camp in Morocco on Sunday.
The 22-member Zambia team arrived in Morocco on Saturday afternoon where they have set up a transit camp in Marrakech en route to Nouakchott to play Mauritania on September 3 in a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group B qualifier.
Chambeshi and his 21 home-based players plus one foreign call-up in the travelling party held their first training session on Sunday evening at the Grand Stade de Marrakech annex.
“As a technical staff we are very happy with the way the boys are working in training. They are looking forward to the game in Mauritania which is good for us,” Chambeshi said on Monday morning from Marrakesh.
“I am also happy with the training facilities and the reception we have received.
“We are currently working on our tactical approach on how we are going to play in Mauritania. We have our own system and for sure by the end of next we will conclude our final preparations.”
Chambeshi added that he hopes to receive his first group of foreign-based call-ups after August 26.
“We have been communicating with the players; I talked to Evans Kangwa (in Russia) and also talked to Patson (Daka),” Chambeshi said.
“The boys are ready to join us anytime but they are just waiting to fulfill their fixtures this week then by next Monday we should receive one or two guys.”
