Swedish-based attacking midfielder Edward Chilufya says he is humbled to be back in the Chipolopolo setup.
The Djurgardens forward returns to Chipolopolo for the first time since October, 2020.
Chilufya is part of the eight foreign call-ups in the 22-member team summoned for Zambia’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group B qualifiers away to Mauritania on September 3 and Tunisia at home on September 7.
“I feel great to be back in the national team. It is always an honour to play for your country so that I can represent it to the best of my abilities. It is a great feeling to be back,” Chilufya said.
Chilufya joined the Zambia team in Nouakchott on Wednesday from his European base just hours after Chipolopolo also arrived there from Morocco where they had set-up a ten-day training camp in Marrakech.
“Of course it (Mauritania) won’t be an easy game but we have to play as a team because away games are not easy to play,” Chilufya said.
“But we have to make sure we go back home with at least a draw.”
