Nigeria will battle it out with Liberia in their opening 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification Group C match on Friday.
Kick-off is at 6:00 pm CAT.
The encounter is scheduled to take place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in the most populous city in Nigeria, Lagos.
The Super Eagles have qualified for six World Cup finals and they are keen to make their fourth successive appearance in the showpiece.
Nigeria are winless in their last three matches across all competitions having registered a defeat to Mexico in their last game.
Dangerous attackers Ahmed Musa and Victor Osimhen will be key for coach Gernot Rohr’s side as they eye a winning start to their Group C campaign.
Meanwhile, Liberia have never qualified for the World Cup and they will be eager to change this as they start their second-round qualifying campaign.
British coach Peter Butler has been tasked with guiding the Lone Stars to the finals and some of his key players are Europe-based duo of Oscar Dorley and Allen Njie.
The Lone Stars have lost four of their last five matches across all competitions including their last game which was against Algeria.
The previous game between Nigeria and Liberia was on 13 October 2012.
Nigeria secured an emphatic 6-1 win over Liberia in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
