Ghana will take on Ethiopia in their opening 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification Group G match on Friday.
Kick-off is at 9:00 pm CAT.
The game is set to be played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium the Ghanaian fishing port of Cape Coast.
The Black Stars have appeared in three World Cup finals and they are looking to qualify for the tournament for the first time since 2014.
They are winless in their last two matches across all competitions having recorded a draw against Ivory Coast and a defeat to Morocco.
Ghana coach Charles Akonnor will look to experienced midfielder-cum-striker Andre Ayew and exciting attacker Mohammed Kudus, who are key players for the Black Stars.
Meanwhile, Ethiopia have never qualified for the World Cup finals and they will be hoping to book their place in next year’s showpiece.
Walia Ibex’s most capped player Shimelis Bekele and experienced striker Ketaneh Kedebe are the key players for the team under coach Wubetu Abate.
They are unbeaten in their last two matches across all competitions having recorded a draw against Sierra Leone and a win over Uganda.
The previous encounter between Ghana and Ethiopia was on 18 November 2018.
Ghana claimed a 2-0 win in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Addis Ababa Stadium in Ethiopia.
