Zesco United coach Mumamba Numba has described Saturday’s CAF Champions League away loss in Eswatini to Royal Leopards as a minor setback.
The Zambian champions kicked off their CAF Champions League campaign with a 1-0 defeat in their preliminary round first leg match in Manzini.
“Of course it won’t be an easy game but we have a team that we can turn the tables,” Numba said.
“I think losing 1-0 is something that we can offset as we go back to Zambia.
“We just have to work on the few mistakes that we made in this game so that as we wait for our opponents to come this Saturday, we can get a victory and progress to the next round.”
An own-goal by defender Solomon Sakala on the hour mark handed Leopards the home win to hand Zesco their first-ever away loss in Eswatini.
Zesco will host Leopards on September 18 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Winner will play GD Sagrada Esperanca of Angola or Zimbabwean champions FC Platinum in next month’s pre-group stage who drew 0-0 in the first leg played in Luanda on Saturday.
